finally here

i have arrived.
after 2o hours on a plane and through airports.
through customs-twice.
multiple missed/cancelled/re-routed/delayed
two boeing 737s and one 747 later i am sitting in a toupe room with bare everything sticking to my t-shirt.
i cant say im not greatful though.
Irma told me as she drove me (on the left hand, and apparently best side of the road) to my new residence that this is the best city in the world, and that its the only place in the world worth living.
IRMA! ITS FUCKING SUB TROPICAL IN FEBRUARY AND A FLASH FLOOD HAS ALREADY SOAKED ME TO MY CORE!
but im not gunna say i dont want to be here.

i keep trying to think about all the people who wished me their best before i left. all the people who gave me kisses on the cheek and wished me health and prosperity during my time abroad.
i am building my time now on those well wishers, and i am encouraged by their positive thoughts and feelings.

its easy to start feelings sorry for yourself when you havent eaten or slept in 24 hours, you just broke up with your boyfriend, its hotter then hell, and you dont know anyone in a city of 9000000000.
but there is no time today to feel sorry for myself, and even though today is a low day, and im not feeling my best, these are the days to live for.
